My name is Jodi (Jodi Rene or JR) and I’m a lifestyle trainer, kickboxing instructor and wanderer to all things adventure. I was born and raised in Michigan and moved to Los Angeles five years ago to pursue a career in fashion. LA stole my heart with its open-minded, adventurous, warm-weather-year-round vibe but fashion did not. After three years I found myself in a rut. Sitting at a desk eight hours a day, in a room with no natural lighting, hearing complaint after complaint and driving over an hour one way just to be somewhere I didn’t want to be, I wasn’t happy but I chose to stay because I was comfortable. It was a paycheck I didn’t have to worry about. A life of complacency and comfort…or so I thought!
With a year of self-discovery and deep work on my love for myself, I found my true calling. A fitness program that works, an unconditional love for all parts of my being, and a career I’m passionate about that allows me to focus on others to create their desired life. Putting it out into this world, I created my own career as a Lifestyle Trainer. With this discovery in LA, it was time to take it back to the homeland of Detroit and bicoastally change the world.
So, what is a Lifestyle Trainer? I get this question a lot. We have trainers (or teachers) for all areas of our lives. We are raised by trainers…our parents. We spend most of our young, adolescent/teen years with those who train us in learning the basics of education. For some, a coach is introduced into our life to be trained in a sport. So why in life when shit gets hard, do we not allow a trainer into our life then? Learning never stops and as we face obstacles, these are the times when the support of others does us best. As a lifestyle trainer, I am here to support you in creating a lifestyle that you deeply desire.
I believe that happiness in life starts with YOU! From the inside out, you can build anything you want but if you are not happy with yourself, how can you possibly create an authentically happy life? Taking care of the mind and how you see yourself, we move to your physical body. With mental and physical health, the way you interact with others changes, creating the world and life you want. The beauty of it all…anything is possible when you start with self love.
